Objective
Win by scoring the most energy points or by enchanting all 6 Nian Shou cards for an instant victory.
Game Turn (3 Phases)
Phase 1: Reveal and Collect
Reveal cards one by one from the draw pile.
If all are different Spirits: keep going or stop and take all.
If a duplicate is revealed: stop and take only the last card.
If first 2 cards are duplicates: gain a Nian Shou card.
Use Lotus tokens to take extra revealed cards (1 token = 1 card).
Phase 2: Place Collected Cards
Choose how to place each collected card:
• Spirit side up: goes into your play area for patterns.
• Capture side up (Yin/Yang): goes on your Stock card (max 4).
Phase 3: Enchant / Capture / Compensate
Enchant a Spirit by completing a valid 4-card pattern.
Capture an opponent’s Spirit using: • Yin card → captures Yang-protected Spirit • Yang card → captures Yin-protected Spirit • Yin + Yang → captures Nian Shou card
Captured card goes to your play area; used capture cards are discarded.
Opponent gains 1 token from the supply per card lost.
End of Game
Game ends when:
A player enchants 3 Spirits
OR the second draw pile runs out
OR someone enchants all 6 Nian Shou cards (instant win)

Points from Enchanted Spirit patterns (Completed spirit)
Turtle snake (Blue): +6
Vermilion bird (Orange): +6
Double Azure Dragon (Green): +9
Double Metal Tiger (Purple): +9
Yellow Unicorn (Yellow): +12
+1 per Celestial Spirit Face card outside of the complete patterns
+1 per Nian Shou card owned
+1 per Capture Face card (card that use Yin/Yang capture Yang/Yin protected spirit card etc)
+1 per token in their entire own play area
Tiebreaker
Player with lesser Spirit face-up cards wins (But BGA set more will be winning in tie break)
Advanced Mode
Protection Tokens
Place token on Yin/Yang symbol of a Spirit card.
Protects that card from being captured (requires Yin + Yang to take).
Token returns to owner if the card is captured.
Tokens on enchanted patterns return to common supply.
Spirit Summoning (Once per Enchanted Spirit)
Place a Lotus token on the center of an Enchanted Spirit to activate its effect:
Turtle Snake: Choose 1 of the top 4 cards → add to play area
Vermilion Bird: Take a capture card from discard pile
Double Azure Dragon: Pick 1 of top 2 cards → add to play area
Double Metal Tiger: Take a Nian Shou card (if any left)
Yellow Unicorn: Reclaim a Lotus from another Spirit pattern
