If there are two bugs, please open two tickets and indicate where the mistake happened so I can see it in the game log. For #1, the double elimination scenario you describe is implemented in the game so it should work properly. Maybe there's a specific sequence where it doesn't work? Please open a new ticket when you find an example.

I will discuss only #2 then. Yes, it seems there is a bug here. The rules are inconsistent on this point.

If you are challenged by other players and you lie, your action didn't occur at all and you DO NOT pay the cost. This works correctly.

However, if you are blocked (e.g., Assassin blocked by Contessa), then the rules say you DO pay the cost (even though the action still doesn't happen). This is strange but it's in the rules. The BGA implementation doesn't charge you in the scenario but apparently it should.
