It would be much more efficient if the user interface would not ask me what to do if I can't do anything.

I see that this might be a bit confusing for this game with many parallel actions and quite asynchronous flow, therefore the best would be to implement this as an optional parameter to the game, or the players could get simply 'dismiss future empty choices' button.

91% of Not Alone games are played in real-time, and this is the recommended configuration.

On real time game, the Pass button as a random auto-click timer when you cannot play a card. It's random so
that we do not give too much information to the other players about which card you have or you don't have in you hand actually.

If you want to play Not Alone in the turn based mode, you will unfortunately have to deal with those empty choices for now...

auto-pass should be implemented if you don't have a phase-x card, so we're not waiting for someone who "forgot" to press pass...
