According to lordalx (boardgamearena.com/bug?id=15582):
"When a rematch is proposed, unless game disable it, the player are place around the table in the exact same order (like in real life when you keep on playing with the same game again and again)"
While I understand this logic, I don't think it really applies in BGA turn based games. I'm constantly playing with the same group of friends rematch over rematch of the same game. Some games that we like, we've been "rematching" for over an year. Something like this would never happen "in real life".
Currently, the way rematch works is detrimental to the experience in some games where player position matters a lot (like 7 Wonders, in which you interact only with those players to your side).
I think it would greatly improve BGA if the player order is completely randomized for every rematch. At the very least, for turn based games. -

ประวัติการรายงาน
Two player games should swap starting players on a rematch.
Multi-player games should rotate the starting player and randomize the player order. If rotating the starting player is too much to remember between games, randomizing the starting player (avoiding the previous starting player) is acceptable.
Rearranging seats at the table is totally something we do in real life if we're playing multiple short games.
In real life we use chwazi to determine player order for every game we play. In 7 wonders nobody likes to sit next to the player who likes heavy military and we all want to sit next to the pacifist.
