In one Russian Railroads match, I played with a friend that has premium too, and his favorite color is green, and I was the green the same way... Inside the games, there are a message that my color was chosen by my preferences...

I have seen this several times, for both myself and other players. The preferences are not resolving properly.

I am also having this issue. Green is my top color and it used to work fine but now I don't even get it even if no one else has it sometimes.

I have seen this a bunch, too. For example, my color preferences are blue>cyan>green>khaki green. But both times I've played Art Decko on BGA, I've been assigned grey "according to my preferences" in the chat log. It's not an issue of the game not having blue, as other players in the game who are NOT premium players are still getting the blue color.

I've also seen this happen on other games, though I am not sure which other ones off the top of my head. I *think* also New Frontiers?

I started playing Catan recently. Every game, I get green. My preferred colour is blue. Every other game apart from Catan, I get blue.
How hard can this be? Why can't Catan just tap into the same colour assignment routine as every other game?
Exmaple: table 278835815. I'm playing against 3 non-premium players, but I still get green, not blue. It confused me in this game, I misplaced the robber. This should surely be a simple fix. Make every game use the same colour assignment routine.

I solved this for me. Have just one colour preference, not four. Catan gets it right then - gives me my only preference, rather than my third preference, even though my first one is available.

Even when playing single player mode, it still gives me the wrong color which is yellow. It's not one of the four colors I set. The weird thing is that if I change all colors to green, the system gives me green. It's the only way to let it work as my expect

I am also getting assigned the incorrect colour in Agricola quite frequently.
My preferences are Green first, and Red second.
When another player's favourite colour is Green, I am regularly assigned the colour Cyan and the game log says that was my colour preference, when it was not.

the issue is now considered fixed at mainsite level, it can take time to be deployed on each game individually.
