I can report the same issue, i wanted to play some cards in the political phase, but the played card was another that wasn't in my hand.

This is not a bug, I just didn't understand this mechanic

same issue. the card you choose is not the card being played. It"s totally random.

Just to fully explain to new players that would see this bug report:
When you chose an event from your hand, this event is NOT resolved. That's how the game works and should work.

The card you chose will only be resolved ~5 events later, and the first ~5 events are totally random (out of a very limited set).

[The card you choose is shuffled in the "future event pile", and an event is drawn from the "current event pile". When the "current event pile" is empty, the "future event pile" become the new "current event pile"]

When I play an event card, an aggression card or a colony, the played card is different from the card in my hand!
