I'm using the Brave browser, which has worked hundreds of times but produced this bug twice today. Both times, the interface claimed my opponent was not moving, but then kicked me out of the game for being out of time. I was penalized heavily in ELO for each of these incidents, even though I did nothing wrong; the interface glitched, did not show it was my turn, then blamed me for not playing.

This follows up my report of Sep 26th 2025 1:13 because, when I re-enter boardgamearena.com, I receive additional messages blaming me for quitting two games, and suggesting that I report here if there was a technical issue.

Additional details: the interface appeared to show that my opponent was "thinking", then I received a message that my move had timed out and the game had ended because I quit playing. I was never given the opportunity to move.

To be clear, each incident happened after the game had begun. Moves had already been made by each player, and until the glitch, all players had working connections. One game as a 3 player game, one was a 2 player match. At my end, I had a working internet that allowed me to access other apps on the same Windows laptop that I was using for Century Spice Road. The glitch was evidently something that happened within BoardGameArena's servers, not an internet interruption at my end.

This updates my reports of 25th and 26th Sept because two additional instances have occurred (yes that's a total of six in about three days), and once again, when I later log in to BGA, BGA informs me that I have received an additional penalty. As before, the glitch is clearly on BGA's server; I did not willingly quit the game, each time the game engine shut me out in the middle of a game, reported the opponent as the player who was not moving, and then kicked me out for "not moving in time."

In one of the instances from last night, my opponent messaged me within the game while the problem was occurring, and described the exact same thing happening at his end. At first he asked me whether I was still playing; then, when I explained the interface acted as if it was his turn and he wasn't moving, he explained that he had moved again. At that point, both of us had messages that the other player wasn't moving, even though we had each moved! This increases my suspicion that the issue involves the server incorrectly handling input from the players, not any fault of the players themselves.

I also suspect that it doesn't matter which browser the player uses, because I doubt both players would use the same rare browser. Just in case, though, I will try using a different browser for a while.
