it is true, he had 10 money in hand and to play fish with eco experts cost 9, so he was able to do it. All the other cards which they had in hand cost over 10 and have no requirements. It looks like itfirst checked which cards are playable against the tags and global parameters state (=none) and thus it discarded eco experts as unplayable and refunded with 15 money. But that is wronng, it must check against tags + ignore global parameters, then fish is playable.

That should be playable. The prelude provides the plant production to reduce to make Fish playable. Did this work properly before colonies? Because, none of those cards are related to colonies. Weird.

Probably no one ever tried this because you normally don't want to lower your own production.

I guess people did that previously. What is probably the problem that otherwise the player had no other playable card (not enough money or not meeting requirements). So I guess when it is evaluated if the prelude is playable, the problem is that it first checks if you have any playable cards and at that point it does not ignore the global parameter requirements. So I can imagine if he had for example Mine in hand which costs only 4, prelude would not be discarded. And in the next step, probably both Mine and Fish would show up as playable becase at that point it would already ignore global parameters. But only speculation of course.

CONFIRMED.

But not for the reason Happy-smile gave.

This prelude works with Trees, Kelp Farming, zeppelins, Shuttles, etc, even if no other cards are in hand that have no requirement.

The issue is specific to Livestock, Herbivores, Fish, small animals. (Maybe Birds, the player's other prelude has exactly +1 plant production.)

The prelude does not take into account the +1 plant production given, and therefore deems no valid targets because it thinks there is no plant production to reduce.

Fixing this should be a top priority.
Ecology Experts + fish or livestock might be a reasonable play someone might want to make.

Applying the +1 plant production of this prelude first before checking for valid targets would solve the problem.

Its to complex to elaluate playabily in hypotetical case (in this case I have to have a virtual environemtn where production is higher). What I can do in this case is make it not fail when evaluating playability.
But if they really have no cards to play - it will let them not play a card (its against the rules, but in this case I don't see many other options to do it efficiently and correctly at the same time)

Hey Victoria_La. Is it possible to add a virtual plant prod before the check then remove that virtual plant prod after?

Fixed as describe above
1) In valid case you will be able to play card
2) If you managed to get Ecology Experts and notihing you can play, you just get the increase of production
(and this is strictly speaking not by the rules, but its the best I can do)

It not worth it. There is another 200 bugs and suggestions will be better looked at then spent days on inavlid play improvements
