As far as hierarchy goes, I have always played that 4-kind > 3-kind > pair > single. With this hierarchy, it allows longer play for a given trick and also increases the frequency of a "revolution." I'm not big on the whole reversing the hierarchy of the cards during a revolution, as I never played it this way, but it is interesting and maybe worth making it an option. Additionally, it seems silly that if you have three 4's or 5's, more than likely you are only able to play all 3 of them if you get the lead. But under this Beta, it appears that doesn't happen very often; especially when you have 5+ people ( you could argue the odds of getting a 3 of a kind with 5+ people, but whatever)
Also, I have also played where if someone can make it a revolution, regardless if it's their turn, they are able to. This makes the play enjoyable while keeping everyone on their toes. Not sure if this is something that can be "programmed."
