I'll further add that this "helpful" skipping (by choosing) occurs in multiple places in the game. And worse, it will also skip the confirmation step as well.

This is particularly bad because the normal process trains the user that "it's safe to check the effects of this ability" because you will have to confirm before it's committed (at least when there are generic inputs). Thus it's a big (and unpleasant) surprise when the game chooses a color for you and the confirmation is skipped.

For example, it's unclear to a new user whether the mausoleum converts one or X resources to black. Clicking to check turns out to be a completely unsafe operation.

I support that suggestion. In the absence of a choice for the selection of essences, they could be pre-selected without skipping the confirmation step.

Generally speaking, I find it disturbing to change the number of steps in a given action according to one or more specific situations.

I support this suggestion. I just transmuted 3 death to 3 death from this "feature" in boardgamearena.com/table?table=150455563 and it more than likely was the difference between winning and losing. This shortcut should be eliminated.

Are you sure that you have no over ressource, in particuraly Gold ?

I know it would be stupid to transmute gold in an other ressource, but it is alloweded
