Yes you can all do those action by selecting the card and then clicking in the different place in the game. But people, at least those I play with, have been "trained" in many other game, to see the possible action listed at the top as button when you select something.

So I think for example, that seeing the Discard/Add to meld (when applicable) button at the top would make it easier to "get used" to the game. For me an my wife, it took us some looking around in our first game.

Button I see
Draw (already there)
Pick Discard
Discard - once a card is selected
Add to Meld - once a card is selected
New Meld - when more than one card is selected
Undo

Also... the Target contract, if you play on mobile, Blue/Brown/Yellow mean nothing since you can't do move over. Maybe have an icon for Clean/Dirty/Wild....

And maybe "gray out" discard pile when you can't pick from it

That's what I see at the moment.

I have not played a wide variety of games on BGA.

My philosophy in developing this game (based in part on published developer guidelines) was that people who know how to play the game would be able to figure out how it works. My observation of early (pre-alpa) playtesters has so far borne this out -- most may take a minute or two to figure out how to do something (e.g. playing required cards after taking the discard, or creating a new meld when you have too many cards for an existing meld), but game play then proceeds apace.

As far as the contract bar is concerned, I understand your concern about not understanding its meaning in the mobile setting. I'm just not sure what sort of iconography would be unambiguous (in a visual multilingual setting) to communicate the different meld types. Feel free to message me (or open a suggestion specific to that item) if you have specific iconography in mind.

Lastly, I would ask that you separate out your issues into specific separate bugs/suggestions, so that they can be separately voted on. (e.g. one for "add buttons to the top of the screen", "improve target contract display", etc.)

I respect your opinion, with all due respect, maybe you should look at other game. I know how to play canasta and 3 persons I spoke with find the UI hard and not intuitive. Yes it doesn't take 20 minutes to get used to it, but it get way longer than any other games.

I've tested herloff yesterday, a game that I had no idea of the rule or whatever, and UI took a second to get used to, I don't think both option are opposite. Both can exist at the same time.

But I can understand that cost/benefit is not good for you.
