Game was behaving correctly for a normal purchase. Under normal circumstances I shouldn't have been able to buy that card, but since I could place it in another sector it should have been possible.

I discovered the same problem in a game. because without the UES SCott, you would not normally be allowed to purchase the card, it is blocked from being usable with the UES Scott, but you are definitely allowed to use the Scott to purchase a card that is normally blocked by a colony, to put elsewhere

Same thing happened in my most recent game (boardgamearena.com/7/spacebase?table=246161672) I had a charge cube on UES Scott 4406-C and a Colony Card on Sector 12. I wanted to use the charge ability to buy a card and place it in Sector 10 (place in any Sector 7-12, 10 did not have a Colony Card) but the cards that would normally go in Sector 12 were not available for purchase.

Same problem with table #246407428, move 158. Couldn't buy colony card 10 with UES Scott 4406-C even though i could have placed it in slot 10-12 which were still available.

Sorry, I meant the interface wouldn't let me buy colon card 7 even though i could have placed it in slot 9-12 which were still available.

I also had bought the 7-12 option card, with 2 cubes, bought a 12 card, and it wouldnt let me put it in the 7 slot, it auto went to designated 12 and took the cube

This is still a problem apparently. I had the 9 colony ship and tried to buy a 9 card to place in the 10 space. Should have been able to per the rules.

Happened to me at #259452389 at move #118
I lost because the game prevented me to buy colony 8 and place it elsewhere (in 8 I already had a colony)

Observed this bug in the final Polaris89 buy opportunity of boardgamearena.com/6/spacebase?table=310594150. It made no difference to the outcome, but ownership of a 12 Colony Card should not prevent the Scott from being used to purchase a 12 card for placement in a DIFFERENT sector (7-11).
