On my first turn I took a potato card then used the potato card (which composted a artichoke.) At the end of my first turn the Potato card I had used was suddenly in my had & there was no cards in my discard pile. According to the rules you’re ment to discard you entire hand at the end of each turn, and re-draw. You only shuffle your discard pile into your deck when your deck runs out.

This is fine.
On your first turn, you played the potato, so you only had four artichokes left in your draw pile.
Then you discarded the potato and the 5 artichokes in your hand.
At the end of your turn, you drew the 4 artichokes remaining in your draw pile, then your discard pile needed to be reshuffled and it seems you were lucky and drew the potato immediately again (a 1 in 6 chance).

Rule 5, Sub rule 1 saids

“Do not shuffle your Discard Pile to form a new Deck unless you are unable to draw a hand of 5 cards at the end of your turn, or a Potato or Leek card is played and the target Deck is empty.”

But, so far at the end of every turn my discard pile has been shuffled into my deck.

Yes, of course you have to shuffle your deck after every turn if you have less than 10 cards in your deck.

Ohhh, I understand now. I’m terribly sorry. I was thinking the big number on the garden row deck was how many cards wore in my deck 🤦‍♂️.
