I can't recall in my first game this was also the case (or me and my opponent just followed the rules)

I did not understand what the Refute button does. I think I do now and maybe i can "enforce" the rules this way. I will try it next game and where I notice that rules aren't followed.

First, my opponent ignored a capture. Then I also ignored a capture.

It's a big bug because it undermines the integrity of the game.

I just want to add that standard American checkers (8x8 board) also requires mandatory capturing, if possible. The king still only moves one space at a time. I can't recall the rule when two capturing paths exist.

In 10x10 rules, you have to capture along the path with the most possible captures. Only when two paths contain the same number of captures does the player get to choose which path to follow.

I agree that the game shoudl enforce mandatory capturing, in all modes or that there should at least be a setting for this! How annoying it is to have to refute moves just to play by the rules.

I’m honestly really confused why moves must be manually refuted. If anything, I think that should be an optional setting, as opposed to being the default
