If everyone is looking at the secret cards first except for one (new) player who happens to sit to your left and always ask you, you have almost no chance to win. With 4 players, at the time when you have seen the 4 hidden cards, the one who asks you has answers to 4 questions (so on average less information) but the other two players know the 4 hidden cards AND the answers to 4 questions. As you are the one who got asked, you don't get any information from it, nor do you get glasses for compensation. This disadvantage is too much in most game to have any chance.

The frustrating part of this is that the player who asks has a disadvantage himself, but just doesn't realize it. If new players would get a hint that this is better for themselves, maybe this would happen less often.

By my experience, this is a very common case (especially with a new player) and ruins lots of games. Otherwise I wouldn't make this recommendation as normally people shouldn't be given such specific advise.
