Related problem:

I Hit PLAY and it starts the search for players... and if it doesn't find any players in about 3-4 seconds, it kicks out and displays this error message at the top:

"Unexpected error: Solo mode for this game can only be played in Training mode"

I'm not trying for Solo mode, and, in fact, I don't even know how to set that up. Nor am I in training mode. Just doing a regular "Automatic" search.

However... if it can find at least one player in the first 3-4 seconds, then it hangs on and does not kick.

This is not a bug... it's how BGA works...

Is there a "BGA website" bug for this issue of failed starts for games with a Solo mode? For anyone else coming across this report with a similar issue - if you click the gear icon for the Can't Stop Express tile to get your game options preferences, and then set it to "I never want to play with":"1 players", then you won't "match" for a solo game, and will only be matched with multi-player games.
