It's a known implementation thing -- the mod just tracks cattle and sheep as permanently in your inventory. The real life game effectively treats them this way anyway, since they are just red tiles you can upgrade straight out of your stables.

Some card(s) may not be compatible with sheep and cattle, but they specifically mention this (e.g. in the appendix text or the card itself).

So this makes an occupation like Bosporus Traveler obsolete / useless? I can't seem to activate it in any way, probably because it's requirement is putting a cow in a stable

actually putting them in the stable is cosmetic only, as far as I can tell. They always behave as if they are in the stable.
