Conversely, if you choose "Skip Buy" on the card-activated "Buy a card" action, the game also skips your normal buy action without asking. This happened to me on table 241458145.

I can't predict what order I need to invoke multiple "buy a card" cubes in order to make all of the additional buys possible. This happens on the sector 7 and the sector 2 cards when I have more than one. Invoking in the wrong order will zero out the remaining money so I still have a buy, but zero dollars to buy with.

Related - after zeroing out your gold it will still invite you to use a cube to buy a card even though you have no money. Sometimes this makes sense (if the cube has another additional ability) but other times it needlessly slows down the game

Darinx5 - please put this suggestion for an improvement in a new separate bug report. This isn't specifically related to how money is spent when cards are purchased.

I will look at the sector 2 and 7 buy card behavior to check whether there are any issues there.

When you use the “Buy a Card” ability, it acts
similar to a normal buy except you only spend
the exact cost of the card you buy instead of
all your money.

We should technically be allowed use a "buy a card" ability after the normal buy but that would be without any money unless the "buy a card" ability also gives some money (at least one card does) or we have some other ability we can use to gain money at any time.

Being able to do the different purchases in any legal order is sometimes (rarely) important.

For instance, if we want to buy 2 cards to put on sector X, one through normal buy and through the "gain 4 and buy a card" ability. If one of the cards costs 7 and the other 4, we might want to do the normal purchase before the ability purchase if we want to send the 7 cost card to the red zone.

This same thing happened tome today. I did the normal 'buy' a card step, then clicked the ability to by another and my money was then zero and thus I could not buy another card. I had enough coin at the start of the turn to purchase the two cards I wanted.

I've had this bug every time I've tried to use this card. What am I doing wrong if you're saying it's not a bug? I'm confused as to how to do it any differently. As it stands, this card isn't working properly for me
