I agree with this idea. The cards already shift around after buys, so I think it would be easier to scan them if they were in order. (Usually, I'm more interested in knowing if a particular sector number is available rather than knowing which cards have been out the longest.)

I think this is even more important in async games, where you probably haven't been watching the other players' turns.

I took a different approach:
During purchase
1) if you mouse over the sector number, then the matching buyable cards will be highlighted
2) also when you mouse over the stock cards, the target sector will gets darker.

That's not nearly as helpful on mobile as it will be on desktop

Well, actually mouse over kinda works on mobile, but now I made the sector cards also clickable during purchase:
So on mobile, during purchase:
1) if you click on a sector number or a sector card (1-12), then cards within your budget will be highlighted.
2) if you click on cards over your budget, then those will darken the target sector.
3) if you click on cards in your budget, you will buy them, but there is a confirm option.
can mobile players confirm and comment? (It worked for me)
