Ah, that seems better than the "incremental" rules i found

There are also contradictions between the two regarding for instance river crossing
* where the link I gave states that you are safe if you do no change gear (coast dice or same gear as you started with if the river is the first space of your move)
* your link state that you need to use coast or 1 to be able to continue

I guess your link is more recent
