I have had this problem in 2 out of 3 solo games. Browser is Firefox.

@tchobello - Your response may not be meant for me. Just in case, the screen capture I submitted above should have the move number on it. It was move #17.

of course, not.
As this problem is quite hard to reproduce...
In the early versions of the game, you had to click on the monster too... and it's still available.
it might help too.

This happened to me on move #1.
I instead chose to move my hero to another monster for move #2.
On move #3 the same thing happened.

I can't use the fight button too. it worked in my first game but all the next games I start I can just draw/ discard cards and move my hero, no matter what cards i have and where I click.
I played solo in training mode, browser is firefox.
